Together With Parents – Kent

Together With Parents – Kent

Together With Parents programme supports families whose child is on the waiting list for a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, or other neurodiverse (ND) conditions.

The team provides a multi-layered support approach focused on empowerment and resilience-building for families through the parents and caregivers.

We offer an evidence-based Barnardo’s Cygnet course, peer support groups to help families expand their support networks, and workshops on topics tailored to specific needs for supporting ND children or young people. Each family’s experience is personalized by our TWP facilitators—individuals with first hand lived experience—who understand the challenges and joys of supporting neurodiverse children, offering both reassurance and practical guidance to navigate their unique journey.

Additionally, Together with Parents extends support to families in collaboration with Kent County Council (KCC), giving access to families who do not meet TWP criteria but are engaged with Integrated Services. We reserve five spaces on each Cygnet course to ensure broader access for KCC families.

The TWP team’s lived experience is what sets us apart. Our personal journeys with children and young adults with autism, ADHD, and other ND diagnoses give us the insight needed to support families as they build resilience and understanding on their own path.

Please note, that currently, access to the Together with Parents programme is by referral only through KCC Children’s Integrated Services.
