This qualification aims to develop learners’ understanding of autism and the principles of supporting autistic individuals – covering the person-centred approach and influence of positive communication methods, how to support positive behaviour, and how autistic individuals can be supported to live healthy and fulfilled lives.

This qualification will develop the knowledge and awareness of the types of provision in the Health, Social Care and Children’s and Young People’s sectors.

They include the roles played by workers, from principles and values through to health and safety and working with others.

The qualification will provide learners with a basic understanding of key legislation, policies and procedures in relation to Safeguarding and the Prevent Duty. Learners will also understand their own role and that of their organisation in relation to safeguarding.

This qualification prepares learners to work in a education setting and develops the knowledge needed to care for children and adolescents in a way that aids their learning and development at all times.
