Who is the course suitable for?

This qualification is ideal for those considering a role in the catering, hospitality or leisure industries.

In the health sector, it would be useful for health trainers, other health professionals and staff in a range of public services who need a basic knowledge of human nutrition.

Course content

To be awarded the Level 1 Award in Nutrition and Health learners are required to successfully complete all 3 mandatory units:

• Unit 01 Introductory awareness of the importance of healthy eating and drinking for adults

• Unit 02 Planning healthy diets

• Unit 03 Understanding eating disorders.

Where could the course lead?

This course can be completed as part of the qualification packages in either Health & Social Care in Young People’s Setting or Nutrition & Health.

This qualification does not qualify you to work but does provide a starting point for deciding whether a career in the sector is right for you.
